So, I found a new job announcement this morning, an English Monitor Analyst, in Pocatello Idaho... Yea, in the mountains, I know, but check out the duties:
"Incumbent will be responsible for analyzing recorded electronic
surveillance material containing a mixture of various foreign
languages and English; listens for English conversation and provides
clear and concise English summaries for the English conversations
analyzed. This material includes a variety of recorded material,
both technical and non technical in nature; some specialized
terminology may be involved. Incumbent will be responsible for
analyzing written communication in written form for pertinence to
operational investigations. Incumbent will also analyze documents,
audio recordings, and video materials recovered from operational
searches. Material may be garbled, indistinct, or ungrammatical with
no opportunity to question the originator regarding meaning of
terms, significance or inflections, and the like."
I think I could do that! The town, about 50,000 people, has a bus system and an airport, and there are 4 vacancies. I'm nervous, but I'm a blind person, with super good hearing.
Thoughts?
Plus, there's a CHOCOLATE LAB PUPPY in our backyard. Dad found her underneath the driveway, stuck. She's a sweet little thing, has a face and eyes EXACTLY like Kazzi's. Her fur is a lot shorter, like way, and she's a little tubby. I'm sure someone is missing her, because she can sit, but she has no collar. Hopefully we can find her family, but I did notice my dad seems to really like her. |

Yes, I feel like saying a few things...
First WTF on giving the 9/11 guys a civillian TRIAL in NYC?! They plead guilty already! Why waste taxpayer money on that and risk some snazzy defense attorney getting them out on a technicality? The whole... torture thing is going to come up.
I think it should be done through military tribunal things, and I'm still for sticking them in one of our supermaxes (super maximum security prisons) and shutting down Getmo, but sheesh, these trials should have been done years ago (thank you, Bush/Cheney for sitting on your asses and passing this problem on to Obama)
Also, WTF IS THE BIG DEAL with this?

This is a commission I've been working on since January, and I need help with the water splashes, the water coming down from the paws and stuff. I don't have a clue how to do it or have found any reference photos or anything. I've seen video of a tiger running through water, but I can't visualize it either >.< Any help any of you guys could offer would be appreciated.

Well, it turns out that the job in STL was from a few weeks ago and already filled. I'm kinda disappointed, but then after spending a good amount of time trying to find an apartment in a decent location, both close to the office and close to grocery stores and with things like a nearby drycleaners, and dog groomer and stuff and being unsuccessful, I was reminded of why I dislike that city so much.
Back to the job hunt... |

A bit of a stress reliever from this recent... whatever it was. No references ^^ I do kinda think I've seen the "leaf" breath somewhere, now that I've finished this, but I'm not sure. It seemed like a good idea.

Well, no news in the job department. Applied for a job with the Department of the Navy in the DC area.
Dad, Peggy, and I went to see the Time Traveler's Wife.... Goood movie.
And, I had to lift Kazzi's hind end into Dad's truck, because she just couldn't jump in/refused to. The best she could do was put her front paws up, and then I lifted her the rest of the way in. Christ, she'll only be 7 in November D: She was able to jump in two other times today (after the first time when she couldn't) but she obviously didn't want to. She seemed to be able to get out just fine, and her work is still impeccable as always. I've been giving her this glucosamine stuff for her joints recently because she really does Not like being groomed on her hind legs. One time she fell off the little grooming bench my dad made be because she kept leaning away when I tried to brush her hind left side. Plus, she somehow broke a nail (her nails are the really tough hard variety that do NOT wear when walking on concrete) on her front right paw, and her claws are getting too long, but dad's all like, we can't get her groomed for 2 weeks, and that I should walk her more (nowhere to go + no sidewalks + waaay too hot outside + her claws don't fucking wear down...) And people wonder why the hell I don't want to give her to him when she retires.
I am thinking of calling The Seeing Eye Monday to see if they have any thoughts on what's been going on with my Kazzi. |

So... the job people said the jobs are located in Winston-Salem, NC. The job annoucements said the salary ($47,000 and change) was figured for the Arlington, VA area. So, I went to salary.com and found out a few interesting things:
If I were to have that job in NC, the salary would likely be 41k and change. However, to maintain the standard of living I would have if I made 47k in Arlington/DC, I'd only have to make 27k and some change... So, if my mental math is right, if I went to Winston Salem, I'd be enjoying a standard of living equal to a salary of 61k and change in the DC area... I think.
A few concerns though, their bus system costs only $1 full price one way, which kinda makes me suspect it sucks. Plus, the schedules have the busses running about every 30-40 minutes, like St. Louis... I guess I could afford cabs easily enough at the pay and COL. Apartments there are cheap as hell ($905 for a 3 bedroom O_x.)
So many decisions... sometimes I wish I wasn't an adult so someone could make these kinds of choices for me... XD |

I'm 24 today!! And Kazzi and I just had our 5th anniversary as a guide dog team on Sunday!! It'll probably be boring today, but my stepmom got me a cheesecake and some nice Aeripostle (however its spelled) small petite shirst (that fit me) |
